Struck by Thunder?! FIRST TIME DIVE Brian Johnson and AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” Live at River Plate

Our patrons always bring me the best music. This time, for my first time ever, I’ll be listening to the legendary AC/DC in a live performance that is incredibly massive. I hear Brian Johnson has a lot of differences between him and Bon Scott, whom I plan to hear soon, and even then. . . AC/DC’s sound is so legendary I’m bound to make it a part of my normal listening repertoire. Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to AC/DC for the first time, performing “Thunderstruck” Live at River Plate.

You probably know this but Brian Johnson replaced Bon Scott after Bon’s death. Bon had a similarly unique voice. It’s actually quite interesting how similar they are in some respects. . It would be interesting for you to compare the two. Also, Angus has been doing the skipping and jumping since very early on. There is a very early video with Bon Scott as lead singer of “It’s a long way to the top” on Youtube. If you’ve not seen it I recommend that you do to see what the band was like very early on. There’s also a good video interview of Brian Johnson in which he talks about his audition for the band after Bon’s death.

This was a great song to pop your AC/DC cherry to, but I really recommend you listen to the earlier incarnation of the band with Bon Scott upfront. While capable of standing toe to toe with Brian Johnson for sheer energy, Bon had a bluesy blend of larrikinism, energy, and soul that was his alone.
