How To: Avoid Copyright Claims in Reaction Videos (FAIR USE)

“OMG, thank you so much for sharing! I uploaded one of my cover songs a few weeks back and got copyright claim and was quite panicked and didn’t even know there is an option to dispute as “cover song”! This helped me a lot. I just disputed it and see how it goes! Thank you so much again! Happy holidays!”

We just got a strike on our channel for one of our React videos. I used your guidance to dispute the video, but it was immediately denied within a few hours. I decided to take the next step and “Appeal” the rejection since it seemed too quick and perhaps “automatic” rather than intentional. That proved to be a mistake, as it resulted in a strike and take down of the video. There are other reactions to this same live performance on YouTube, but I guess we pushed to far with the appeal. Now, I’m going to contact the creator directly and try to get them to remove the strike. Any advice on that?
